Bourbon Apple Cider
2 oz bourbon, 3 oz fresh apple cider, 1/4 oz lemon juice, 2 dashes Angostura bitters. Build over ice in a rocks glass, garnish with a cinnamon stick and an apple slice. For events, warming the cider slightly (not hot — just above room temperature) and serving in a heat-safe glass makes for a nice variation as evening temperatures drop.
Spiced Pear Mule
2 oz vodka, 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice, 1/2 oz spiced pear syrup (simmer chopped pear with sugar, water, a cinnamon stick, and a few cloves, then strain), top with ginger beer. Build over ice in a copper mug, garnish with a thin pear slice. It's a fall-forward variation on the Moscow Mule that reads as seasonal without being unfamiliar.
Maple Old Fashioned
2 oz bourbon or rye, 1/4 oz pure maple syrup (in place of simple syrup), 2 dashes Angostura bitters, orange peel. Stir with ice, strain over a large ice cube. The maple syrup adds a rounder, slightly earthier sweetness than standard simple syrup — a small swap that makes a familiar drink feel tied to the season.
Cranberry Sparkler (non-alcoholic)
2 oz cranberry juice, 1/2 oz fresh lime juice, 1/4 oz simple syrup, top with sparkling water or club soda. Build over ice in a wine glass or coupe, garnish with fresh or frozen cranberries and a rosemary sprig. A genuinely good option for a fall mocktail menu — festive, not an afterthought.
